My holistic referral network includes trusted providers - such as nutritionists, nurse practitioners, and psychiatrists - who can offer additional support when needed. Services provided may include nutrition management, medication management, and specialized medical testing to help maximize your overall health. While members of the referral network are not formally affiliated or employed with Tidewater Counseling, they are individuals I feel confident referring to in order to help you build a well-rounded, personalized care team.

    As a Registered Dietitian with fifteen years of experience, Maryann is a wonderful asset for clients looking to address their physical health by way of nutritional education and supplementation. Maryann specializes in nutrition for mental health, psychiatric care & chronic illnesses such as Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS), Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS), and more.

    Maryann has significant experience with functional & root cause nutrition, psychiatric residential & detox care, and psychiatric medication side effects, nutrient depletions, and metabolic co-morbidities.

    Emma Hovey is a board-certified Physician Assistant who brings specialized expertise in psychiatry, holding a Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in the field. With degrees from the University of Florida and Nova Southeastern University, where she earned her Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies, she has built a strong foundation in providing quality mental health care.

    Emma’s philosophy centers on creating a welcoming environment where every patient feels genuinely heard, valued, and supported. She believes in working alongside her patients as partners, crafting personalized treatment plans that honor each person’s unique goals and lifestyle.   • Dr. M. Omair Ata, D.O.

    Georgia

    Dr. Ata is a Board Certified Psychiatrist based in Georgia who strives to provide a holistic approach to treating mental health. After completing his residency training in General Psychiatry in Texas through Texas Institute for Graduate Medical Education and Research (TIGMER), he has relocated to Georgia and currently holds an adjunct faculty appointment with the Augusta University/UGA Medical Partnership. Dr. Ata is also an attending psychiatrist providing education and training to current residents.

    Dr. Ata has extensive training in treating all mental health concerns, devoting specific attention to holistic psychiatry. Holistic psychiatry is a mental health treatment approach that focuses on the patient as a whole, not just their symptoms. Holistic psychiatrists consider a patient’s physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being throughout treatment. Dr. Ata has a special interest in mood and anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorders, ADHD, OCD and integrative medicine.

    Meredith is a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with nearly thirteen years of experience in the nursing field, originally beginning as an ICU nurse in 2013. As a PMHNP, Meredith specializes in Depression, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), and Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) - however, she has additional experience working with ADHD, mood disorders, and chronic illnesses.

    Meredith believes that mental health is influenced not only by biology, but also by lifestyle, environment, and life experiences. She offers medication management, supportive psychotherapy, and integrative/functional approaches to help address both presenting symptoms and underlying causes.

    Meredith provides in-person services in Tampa, Florida, and can see patients virtually throughout the state of Florida.
